Advanced CE Seminar - Clinical uses of Amnion in veterinary regenerative medicine.
Thursday February 24th 7pm
The NJAEP was proud to promote our first Advanced CE Seminar of the year hosted by Mr. Brandon Ames, CEO of Anicell Biotech. (2 free RACE-approved CE credits for attending.)
A 90 minute online seminar that reviewed the practical uses of Amnion as regenerative therapy in large and small animals. The course reviewed the history and science behind the use of amnion in human and veterinary regenerative medicine, gave an overview of the ready-to-use amnion products offered by AniCell. Together, we reviewed several case studies, many of which were already familiar to our members. There was great interaction between the group as we reviewed before an after images and heard directly from the vet member responsible for treating that case. The group was lead through several styles of applications and given examples of how to apply ready to use amnion to various wound locations. such as the eye, the heel, puncture wounds and large wounds in difficult to wrap areas.
Presenter Information: Brandon Ames, CEO of AniCell Biotech, is an entrepreneur, horseman and cattle rancher with a lifelong passion for animals. His past start-up companies in the telecommunications and aviation sectors have garnered numerous commendations including “Best Places to Work”, “Arizona Fast 15”, “Chandler 100”, “AZ Companies To Watch”, “Inc Magazine 5000”, “Flinn Foundation Entrepreneurship Grant”, and the “Arizona Innovations Challenge Grant.”
In 2015, Brandon was inspired to combine his passion for entrepreneurship and animals by founding AniCell Biotech, a company which is built around his patented acellular amnion-based regenerative products. After seeing the deleterious and sometimes disastrous effects of long-term corticosteroid use in his family’s show horses (two suffered a steroid interaction resulting in chemical founder), he began his quest for a more natural, effective approach to horse care which led him to amnion. His challenge was to find a way to ethically source amnion and create an amnion product that was viable and effective without the need for special storage. After many months of research with his team of scientists, AniCell introduced the first ready-to-use, shelf-stable amnion product to enter the market. AniCell products are sold exclusively to licensed veterinarians for administration in the field or in the clinic setting. To date, AniCell has been used on more than 10,000 large and small animal cases on indications such as tendon and ligament tears, summer sores, laminitis, osteoarthritis, corneal ulcers and more.
Raised on a horse ranch in a very rural part of north central Washington, Brandon is uniquely qualified for his position at AniCell Biotech because he can understand the motivations and goal for each product user: owners, trainers, veterinarians, and scientists – and how to employ the best business practices to create a company that most aptly serves each. Brandon has been a guest speaker at a variety of conferences on regenerative medicine including the North American Veterinary Regenerative Medicine Conference and the World Stem Cell Conference.
